DUMAKISA SAFARIS wishes to formally reassure all clients, partners, and visitors that Uganda remains open, safe, and fully operational for tourism and safari travel. This notice is issued in light of ongoing national public health response measures to Ebola.

1. Public Health Situation: The reported Ebola cases in Uganda are linked to cross-border transmission from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Health, continues to implement surveillance, contact tracing, and infection prevention and control measures. Importantly, Uganda’s tourism destinations, including national parks, safari circuits, and wildlife reserves, remain open and unaffected by active transmission.

2. Tourism Operations Status: All DUMAKISA SAFARIS itineraries continue as scheduled. There are currently no restrictions on tourism travel within Safari experiences, including wildlife viewing, cultural tours, and adventure activities, remain fully operational under standard and enhanced public health guidance.

3. Precautionary Measures: We continue to implement enhanced safety and hygiene protocols across all tours, including:
   • Strict hand hygiene before, during, and after activities
   • Use of approved sanitation facilities
   • Responsible wildlife viewing practices to minimize close contact risks
   • Health guidance for guides, drivers, and clients
   • Coordination with lodges and park authorities on infection prevention measures

4. Guidance for Travelers: We encourage all travelers to:
   • Follow official Uganda Ministry of Health updates
   • Adhere to guidance from DUMAKISA SAFARIS staff and guides
   • Maintain routine hygiene practices
   • Report any illness or symptoms immediately for assistance

5. Travel Advisory Status: In line with international travel guidance, including the U.S. CDC, Uganda remains at a level where travel may continue with standard precautions.
